Known Medicinal Properties of Green Tea

Polyphenols are a group of naturally occurring plant chemicals, the most gifted in Green Tea being "Catechins" known to be more powerful than vitamin C and E, and the natural polyphenols are far better retained in Green Tea as it undergoes less processing as compared to other types of teas.

Vitamin C is known to be 10 times higher in Green Tea than Black Tea. Other vitamins found are Riboflavin, vitamin D, vitamin K, carotenoids, (betacarotene and related compounds) and of course fluoride.

Catechin as an antioxidant is found in abundance in Green Tea, and is the main Natural source for this Drug when induced for the treatment of viral hepatitis, to prevent oxidative damage to the heart, kidney and spleen, and also appears to inhibit the growth of stomach cancer.
